With this project we transformed a long, narrow lot into a place to gather, entertain and relax outside. We replaced a narrow elevated deck and open lawn with a private, bluestone patio at grade, featuring spaces to dine under the shelter of a custom-built pergola and relax around a gas fire table. Brick and bluestone steps with iron railings connect the updated old house with the landscape. Lush plantings provide enclosure and separation from the driveway area.

We embellished the front yard with a perimeter planting to provide privacy, texture, color and extended seasonal interest. A flowering tree and bench create a focal point encouraging visitors to stroll and pause in the garden.
